Worthy Cause - Lets have wooden canoes represented

This was just forwarded to me through the Becoming an Outdoorswoman program reps at NYSDEC. They are trying to break a Guinness World Record for the largest raft of canoes and kayaks. The whole "raft" must free float on the lake for at least 30 seconds to break the record. Money raised by the $20 donation per boat will go to to the Susan G. Koman for the Cure organization for breast cancer support and research.

It would be neat to have a wooden canoe section of the raft.

Current Record is 776 boats on May 19, 2001 - on Hinkley Lake in Ohio.

The attempt to beat that number will take place September 13, 2008 at Fourth Lake, Inlet, NY.

Thanks for the warning. Yet another reason to stay clear of the western lakes. It will be interesting to see how the Jet Ski's are going to navigate through this tangle.
