Novice Canoe Restorer
My father in law has offered me a 1980's vintage birch bark canoe. It has hung upside-down outside under a gazebo roof for at least 20 years. To my modern wood and canvas eyes it appears to be in pretty good shape - some binding that is unraveling, and the pitch seams will have to be re-freshed.

I have restored a wood and canvas canoe so I can handle a tool and follow directions (if I spit my gum out).

This may be the summer to get this canoe from Kansas down to Dallas. But where to start?

Any advice would be welcomed.

Eric
