    bertman070 Curious about Wooden Canoes

    I came across a free canoe/kayak with a mount for an outboard motor. The tricky part is the Hull Identification Number is BCF8437CZ. Missing some numbers I know, but I cannot even figure out who manufacturer was. Nothing on the vehicle names who manufactured it. Thanks for your help, I hope someone can help me.

    The Coast Guard's Manufacturers Identification Code (MIC) Database at http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic_detail.aspx?id=BCF indicates that you may have a craft made by "BCB OF LAFAYETTE COUNTY INC" or "BEACH-CRAFT BOATS" or "BOICOURT MARINE" depending on when it was made. You can call 386-294-2477 to speak with the current owner of this prefix.

    The formats have changed over the years but the first three letters are the manufacturer identification code (MIC) and the last two are usually a two digit year. Good luck with the rest of your research.
