I don’t think I’ve seen quite this level of canoodling in a post card before. It was a Christmas gift from my wife. Guess I’ll have to get her out in the canoe come spring.

Great stuff, the concept of the 'courting canoe' did a great deal to enhance the popularity of the sport in the early 1900s. Canoes provided one of the few socially acceptable places where young people could get some private time alone without a chaperone. John Summers has explored this topic in some detail with a lot of similar postcards as shown in his "Canoes and Romance" presentation.
