Norumbega - Ipswich River

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
In Memoriam
Several of the Norumbega members ventured forth on the Ipswich River today. The Ipswich in eastern Massachusetts is notorious for low water levels (like none), since much of the water is pumped out and used for irrigation, drinking etc. well upstream from today's paddle. The beavers however, helped us out by erecting 5 dams that kept the water levels paddleable. We had to pull over the dams, but that is part of the sport. Here's a couple of pictures on a beautiful late summer, nearly fall day.
