Hello,
First off, great site! I just found a dream project Old Town 16 footer with the canvas already stripped, no broken ribs, just a few plank replacements needed and to boot...the guy that sold it to me had already ordered the canvas, filler and cane seat repair kits.
Man, talk about the luck of the Irish. The only thing that could have been better was if it was older! I would have said free, but he practically gave it to me and truth is that I could fish the money out of my pocket fast enough!
I'm waiting on a reply about age in the SN forum, but after reading about others I venture to guess it was made somewhere in the mid 60's. Good enough for me!
Anyway, thanks for all of the advise I have read so far in post after post. My eyes hurt, but knowledge is power and I really want this canoe to some out nice.
