Kirby paint color picutres...

Howie

Wooden Canoe Maniac
Hi. I'm wondering if people who have used Kirby paint on their canoes could send me a picture or two of these canoes. I find it better to imagine how my canoe would look in a color if I can see the color in someone else's pictures. I'm leaning toward a red shade, but all pics are welcome!

Hey - what with the virus floating around and us all locked up inside, this is a great excuse to look over your old canoe pics!

A Penn Yan I did some years ago - Kirby paint, #40 light green.

I had them mix me up a custom color a while ago, I have to send them a new color to match again. Do you have their sample pamphlet? They have chips of the actual paint they will mail you.

One of my early Northern Fox builds, painted in Kirby's See Red - one of my favorite colors. For reference, gunwales are black cherry, decks are birds' eye maple.

A much younger me in my Blanchard-built Adirondack guideboat. Exterior is Kirby's bronze green, interior a matte Irish green.

I've used Kirby's twice. First on a Chestnut Pal, color is Blind Green.

It's a custom color by Kirby, but really close to their seaweed.
