Canoe Identification Help

Hello,

I stumbled upon this website researching the origin of my grandfather’s old canoe and looking for possible help with restoration. Looks like I found the right place!

I found a lot of great info on this site but am still not able to confirm this canoe’s maker. I have not been able to locate a serial number or brand decal. Anybody able to help identify this canoe? The canoe was acquired somewhere in southern Quebec (Mauricie region) likely in the 60’s I believe and was used to fish for brook trout and landlocked salmon. Attached are some current pictures as well as a few older pictures (I think). If there are parts of the boat you need a better picture of, just let me know.

Thank You!

TCB,

There aren't manty really distinguishing features- and you didn't mention dimensions. From earlier photos looks like it has always been glassed...

The fact it was acquired in Southern Quebec and the simple babiche lacing on the seats leans me towards one of the Huron/ Wendat canoe builders perhaps...

Hopefully others with much more knowledge than I will chime in.

Bruce
