Birchbark CanoeingBuilder
 Birch bark canoes are decorated using a variety of traditional methods. These include------ winter bark etching, porcupine quill embroidery, decorative root lashing, and painted designs. Bark etchings are the most common decorations being used by todays builders. Designs are created by moistening the bark and then scraping away the softened layer surrounding the pattern. Porcupine quill embroidery is the most difficult and involved method; quite rare infact. FG
