The Old Town canoe with serial number 174330 is a 16 foot long Otca model with twenty inch decks, half ribs, outside stems, a floor rack, narrow 2 3/4 inch planking, and a bang plate along the full length of the keel. It was built between November, 1964 and August, 1965. The original exterior paint color was similar to the one shown at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design37.gif which was known as the design number 37. It shipped on August 19th, 1965 to North Stonington, Conn.
The Old Town canoe with serial number 138764 is a 16 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, Yankee model with open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, a keel, and a floor rack. It was built between November, 1943 and January, 1944. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It was shipped on April 26th, 1944 to the Newark, New Jersey.
