Kennebec Joy Boy info please

There appear to have been about 850 of these built between 1925 and 1941 although the majority of them are from 1926 and 1927. It is shown on page 145 of volume three in the Kennebec ledgers. This was assigned to a 15.5 foot long Kennebec Joy Boy. It was planked by Lantigue and Roy on April 9th, 1927. The canvas covering and first filler coat was put on by Roy on the same day. The sponsons were also applied on the same day by Sheehan. Next J. Thibadeau applied the second filler coat on October 15th, 1927. It was railed by Mansell on June 30th, 1928. The original paint color was not specified but most of these were a red hull with green sponsons. It shipped on June 29th, 1928 to location "28-765". This location is probably an order number but we don't currently have enough information to identify it.

The scans of these build records can be found by following the links at the attached thumbnail images below. These original Kennebec records are reproduced through the courtesy of the Maine State Museum.

Let me know if this doesn’t answer your questions or if there is anything else that I can do to help.
