Curious about Wooden Canoes
Hello everyone from here in France, I have just bought my first canoe in mahogany and a couple of things among the many I would like to ask, firstly the age, I have a number stamped into the wood on the coaming it's 1-92 now it looks like a Peterborough and it's 12ft long I was told that the numbers relate to a 16ft so I am struggling a little, secondly I am sanding the years of varnish and the copper heads are sticking out slightly, do I tap them in further or leave them while they are solid? I guess that's it for now any help would be greatly appreciated, kind regards mark
