Welcome and congratulations, the Old Town canoe with serial number 103769 is a 17 foot long, AA (or top) grade, Otca model with red Western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, half ribs, a keel, outside stems, and a painter ring. It was built between November, 1929 and February, 1930. The original exterior paint design was similar to the one shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design06.gif which was know as the design number six. It shipped on February, 27th, 1930 to Chicago, Illinois.
This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. Old Town offered many different paint designs in their catalogs over the years. The design number six was only shown in 1924 as shown below so it is unusual that someone remembered it and ordered one in 1930.
