An 1976 Old Town Wahoo was listed on EBay this past summer. The "Old Town '76" addition to the sail caught my attention. It matches the catalog cover for 1976. I was not aware of any special efforts efforts by Old Town to participate in the bicentennial festivities. It was listed in Wisconsin which matches the serial card. I was tempted to make the road trip but found a Wahoo in better condition located in Vermont.

Jack Moll helped arrange the purchase of the Old Town Canoe Company by Sam Johnson in late 1974 so it is not surprising that he would have some extra decorations on the sail of his Wahoo in 1976.

    Thanks Benson,
This is the kind of trivia I can't get enough of...now I'm reconsidering my decision process from this summer of course.
