Hi,i have been left this old wooden canoe by my late grandfather, the canoe is aprox 11 feet long and is made from mahogany i think, there are no serial numbers and no manufacturer tags or anything,i dont really know anything about canoes, and all that came with the canoe was a photo of my grandfather in the canoe when he was young,on the back of the photo it said berlin 1940.i would appreciate it if anybody could tell me when and possibly where it was made.i have added some photos.many thanks.harry.manchester england.

The lack of a serial number or manufacturer tag means that you may never know when or where it was made. It could have been home made. The basic shape is similar to some shown at http://www.ebay.com/itm/280751140368 in a French catalog from the early 1900s.
