    This is great. The Crane Brothers paper company in Westfield, Massachusetts also offered Linenoid paper canoes as shown in the advertisement from the 1893 Sportsman's Directory below. Portable canvas boats and canoes were also popular during this period. Thanks,

    I remember a number of years ago someone made a paper canoe and brought it to Assembly. He had used the Sunday comics as his paper and you could still read them through the varnish. I'm thinking he used a fiberglass canoe as his plug and build the paper canoe on top of it. I recall an article in Wooden Canoe about it. I guess I should have saved it.
