Hi Dave. What’s that gorgeous canoe on Toby’s right? Looks like a Morris with fairly long decks. How long are they, and same length at each end or different?

Michael,
It is a long deck Morris c.1918. 48” bow deck and 24” stern deck. One of the most intense restorations of my career. Every rib tip. New inwales. Rebuild deck supports. New stern deck. New outer stems. Anybody else would have made a weenie roast out of it.
True basket case…., but the 93 year old daughter of the original owners got to paddle in it when it was done.

Great to see this canoe so nicely restored, Dave. Great job! Glad I asked and thanks for sharing the photos of it.

The Dinosaur BBQ is a Syracuse NY establishment known for BBQ ribs and sauces. Back in the day, it was a biker bar. It grew and there are now 6 total NYS locations.
The slathering sauce that Dan is so fond of would make a dirty shop towel taste delicious. The Wango Tango Habanero sauce would be tasty on that cat.:(

I get shop mice, occasional random misguided bird if the door is open, rarely a turkey. But the neighbor dog visits. I wouldn't know what to do with a cat.

Dave O. Oh, I would do the resto and finish with lots of Gold Leaf and then call she- who- must- be -obeyed for a moonlight paddle. Very nice boat and a great bit of history you have respected. I did a Williams some time ago used in the salt and nearly came completely apart when I was stripping it. A little coined gold line ....very pretty indeed.
And , the SLATHER , to die for.

I had to remove all the fiberglass insulation in the ceiling of my shop. It was totally infested with mice. The smell was too much when it had been closed up for a few days. When I was finished, I swept up enough mouse turds to fertilize my garden!
My six drawer tool chest had mouse nests in three of the drawers. I suppose I should fire the two cats we have.
