Serial number 167223 16

    I am looking for the build records for this canoe. I think it is an Otca, part of a fleet of canoes owned by the Girl Scouts.

    The Old Town canoe with serial number 167223 is a 16 foot long Otca model with a keel. It was built between February, 1958 and January, 1960. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on February 1st, 1960 to Patterson, New York. A scan showing this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

    This scan were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.     Thank you for such a quick reply and the documentation for this canoe. It was sold from a summer camp where I was a counselor in the 1970-80s. It will need recanvassing and caning, which I hope I will learn to do myself. I learned to paddle on these Old Towns on Lake Kanawaukee in Bear Mountain, NY. An hour after I wrangled this one from the top of my car, I re-joined WCHA. I can't wait to get started.
