Seattle Craigslist Strip Built Canoe

A really terrible fiberglassing job, most likely polyester resin judging by the green color where the stems are built up with multiple layers of cloth and lumps (probably resin with a cobalt promoter). Doesn't look like the outside was ever even sanded smooth. Not much structural strength up top due to lack of thwarts and those seats on long hangers aren't going to fix that. The center thwart installation is kind of interesting and would keep as much headroom above the yoke as possible when portaging, but that pretty much sums up just about everything that's notable about it. It's hard to say anything much about the design or its performance, though it's pretty typical of most 17' touring canoes. Tell your friend to keep his money in his pocket.
