Hey this is a first time for me on a chat and on a cedar slat canoe. The one I have is a 14 foot Peterbrough and needs some repair and recovering. The bow and stern appear to have some dry rot just below where the outer rails should come together. The ribs are great and the slats are mostly ok. I live in Fla. and use my other glass canoes on the rivers. I am wondering about covering this canoe with light weight fiber-glass for strenght and low maintaince. Any suggestions?
