Peterborough Aquaflyer

I am currently on year 3 of restoring the Peterborough Aquaflyer I acquired near Buckhorn Ontario on my way back from deer hunting.
There was no identification plate on the boat.
However during the sanding process, I have found some numbers stamped in the inside of the boat along the keel
1493-4121
The numbers 4121 were also stamped on the bottom of the rear seats.
Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on the date of manufacture.
Thanx

Definitely could be 1950-1951. In 1952, model numbers changed (1493 became 1828). I do not have access to catalogs between the end of World War 2 and 1950, so can't say how much before 1950 it appeared.

There is a very active old wooden motor boat community in Southern Ontario- they have an annual Vintage Boat show in Muskoka. Someone in that group will definitely have more info on Peterborough runabouts of the 50's.
Try contacting Antique and Classic Boat Society at acbs.ca

That's a beauty by the way.

Good luck!

Thanx...my long term plan is to take it to that show whenever I have it finished in the next year or 2.
