"original 1926 Old Town plans" ??

    There is a current ebay listing for a canoe that is described as "Custom built in 1985 from original 1926 Old Town plans."

    Does anyone know anything about "original 1926 Old Town plans" ????

    The photos show a canoe with quite wide planking, and an inside keel (keelson) -- not much like any OT that I've seen, but then, I've not seen everything there is to see.

    It doesn't look much like any Old Town that I've ever seen although I've not seen them all either. I'm not aware of any plans available from 1926 or other years. Old Town did offer a Fifty Pound Model in a 13 foot length during the 1920s with a 35.5 inch width. Another current eBay auction at http://www.ebay.com/itm/110746671379 shows a 1969 example of this model. I suspect that this one was scaled down from a larger canoe and is probably quite tender if the "beam is 33" as stated. Caveat emptor,
