Does anyone know when this style of Old Town plate was used and what kind of boats that it would of been put on?

A block of these surfaced at the company a few years ago and they have recently been put on ribs tied in a knot for the store, model canoes for the Canoe Hullabaloo, and a variety of other things. They were found with an old Macy tag as shown at http://forums.wcha.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=383 so my guess is that they probably date from the 1920s or 1930s. Please reply here if you ever get a better date because I am curious also. Thanks,

Benson

Add to the mystery

Here are a few more of similar vintage. A friend from the canoe shop gave me these a few years ago. I’ve been curious as to the range of application as well. The Whitecap (1950) we have did not have an ‘Old Town Canoe’ tag or the ‘Old Town Boat’ tag mounted anywhere. There was an ‘Old Town Boat’ decal mounted on the front above the centerboard trunk.
