Just had word that the No-Octane Regatta held in the Adirondacks will be taking place this year. Date is the same (Father's Day weekend), but the venue is moving to Tupper Lake, and more importantly, is back on the water. More details will be posted as they become available.

The No-Octane Regatta is Back!

Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY) and The Town of Tupper
Lake have enthusiastically stepped forward to revive the No-Octane Regatta.
The Adirondack Museum produced this event, which became for many boat
enthusiasts a favorite occasion to "splash into summer," from 1991 through
2005. After a year's hiatus caused by institutional priorities, the Museum
will help present the Regatta at Tupper Lake's Little Wolf Lake on June 16,
2007. The three partners will retain the essence of the Regatta, making
sure it is an event at which people can have fun in non-powered watercraft.
The Regatta will continue to honor wooden boats, but for the first time
traditional small craft of other materials will be welcome, too. The Grand
Parade of Boats, which concludes the event, will be restricted to wooden
boats.
Wooden Canoe Heritage Association members have always been welcome participants in the No-Octane Regatta. We hope to see you in Tupper Lake on June 16! For more information, contact Hallie Bond, Adirondack Museum, hebond@adkmuseum.org or 518-352-7311, ext.
105.
