Need some chestnut for a thwart for the Rushton Indian I'm restoring. 3" x 32" x 3/4", straight grain, no knots. Anybody spare some?

I have some 6/4 clear, old growth in paddle length. Are you coming to Assembly?

No, afraid not. I've just seen a Craigslist where a wood reclamation place a few miles from me is getting rid of (selling) some old chestnut 4"x4" house timber that has been left out in the elements for a while. I'll see what they have - maybe there's something salvageable there. Thanks for replying!

Success! The ad on CraigsList paid off. Biggest problem was avoiding the huge nails. Wood apparently came from the rafters of a house in Ohio.
