I just picked up a canoe at an estate sale. It is an Old Town s/n 206734. It’s about 16’ long. Trying to find out more information about it. Thanks

Welcome and congratulations, the Old Town canoe with serial number 206734 is a 16 foot long fiberglass Carleton model with a keel that weighed 85 pounds. It was built in March of 1975. The original exterior gelcoat color was red. It shipped on June 17th, 1976 to Little Rock, Arkansas. A scan showing this build record can be found below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/shop to donate or join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. More information about this canoe is available from https://www.woodencanoe.org/product...ete-old-town-canoe-company-catalog-collection in the Old Town Canoe Company Catalog Collection. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
