Mullins Yale Blue?

    I was considering painting my newly acquired Mullins, Yale canoe. Does anyone have any knowledge of the original color?

    The photo below is the current color, but it has been painted since new and looks a bit rough. The current color is a light blue, but the other picture shows where some current paint has chipped off and a darker color is below.

    See https://yaleidentity.yale.edu/colors for more details about the various Yale blues. My usual advice is to just pick a color and shade that you like since original colors are very hard to determine. Good luck,

    Here's the color on my unrestored Mullins. It looks very close to your color.
    There aren't many Mullin canoe out there. Its good to save it!

    Thanks for the photo. I do see that it appears the brass bang plates are painted over. Did they paint them that way from the factory? I doesn't seem like they would do that.
