Lifes a Beech

    Is beech used in canoe construction ? Decks seats inners or outers. Do not recall ever have heard of it being used for such.I know its heavy will it stand up to wettings

    Thanks Larry,Life isnt a Beech after all specially when you have friends.
    I rounded up a piece 14 feet long 12 'wide 2' thick quarter sawn and mostly clear it might do for outers Im thinking

    Thanks for that post referring to Righteouswoods site....It isnt even a journey for me here in New Hampshire to drive down there. very interesting with what they have. Gives thought to any restoration project.....Really enjoy browsing around in here...LOTS of good information...By the way!....Tubbs snowshoes, originally Stowe Canoes, has sold out to K2 ski company and the opertion is moving out of the country,China I think, 22 people lost their jobs. My neighbor went over there last weekend.
