King fisher

It was built sometime between 1948 and 1960. Not possible to narrow it down any further based on the serial number alone.

Thanks Dan, my father bought it used for my younger brother in 1962. We always ran a 3 hp Johnson on it and now I have a 1955 Mercury Silent Six on the back. What information do I need to add to the serial number to try and narrow down the build date?
Thanks again for your help.
Joe

Perhaps by comparing catalog specs on a year-by-year basis to see if anything changed with respect to build details.

Sometime between 1948 and 1952, The top of the transom was changed. Later transoms were no longer flat from rail to rail. PY serial numbers after WWII and before 1958, USUALLY used the first 2 digits to indicate the year. These digits were separated from the others with a space. My best guess for your KF is after 1958.

If I remember correctly this one was 1947 pete syak, kingfisher 010.JPG
