My Seliga canoe from the early 1970s has been in my basement and today I decided (after being unused for perhaps 15-20 years) it needed a fresh coat of paint after I noticed some mildew on it for the first time. I'd always used Petit Pine Green (marine paint as I recall) as Joe recommended to me, and I wondered if it was even still available. So onto Google I went and discovered there is a WCHA, and then I find this wonderful write up (the "Joe Seliga" thread) of a warm, unpretentious, and engaging man who with his wife invited my friend and I into their home and shop for some wonderful conversations. Thanks for re-kindling those wonderful memories and all those experiences gliding through the BWCA in that beauty (setting aside the occasional mile long portage...)!! I'm going to find a thread to investigate paint. I think my canvas and the ribs and planking are all close to perfect, especially for a 45 year old. Best wishes to everyone in these challenging times!
