Hello.... I tried this before the "crash".....
Any way, I own an Old Town guide canoe.... 18 ft. Have had it 12 years now and located the serial number long ago. Sure would love a copy of that build record. Plan on a major overhaul this coming spring and want to bring her back to beautiful as only a wooden canoe can be..

The Old Town canoe with serial number 129698 is an 18 foot, GS grade, Guide's model with spruce gunwales, half ribs, a keel, and outside stems. It was built between March and June, 1940. The original exterior paint color was Yale blue. It shipped on June 14th, 1940 to White Hall, New York. It appears that there was a problem with paint peeling so refinishing materials were sent out on July 17th, 1940 as shown on the back side of the card.
