Copper Air Tanks For Buoyancy

Does anyone have any experience with copper air tanks? My Peterborough rowing skiff came with two. One forward and one aft. I just saw one in " the Adirondack guideboat" an new book by Stephen B.Sulavik. it was in the bow of a guideboat. My tanks are removable, I didn't put them in when it was restored.

I have no experience worth using watercraft with copper flotation tanks, but I restored a 1925 20’ Old Town with a 2 cylinder Evinrude inboard that had tanks fore and aft. I’d say it’s your choice to use them or not...

Sorry about the upside down photo...it does that to me, even though right side up when selecting it.
