    Hello,

Looking for some advice on restoring this canoe. My father built it around 1964. It has not been in the water (or even out of the barn) for about 30 yrs. There are a few coats of paint on it. There are some chips and cracks in the paint and the canvas has released from the frame in a couple spots. I removed the floors to give the interior a good clean. Can I scuff the paint and re-coat it? Can I glue the loose stops back tot he frame?

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

I am not an expert on canoe restoration but the answer to both questions is probably yes. It looks like a fun project.

A priceless photo of Dad...cool boat. Might be a candidate for heat shrink Dacron...
