Please help identify this canoe. It is 15' long, 32.5" wide to the outside of the gunwales, 13" deep. The ribs are 2 3/8" wide. The stern seat is the original slatted seat, and the bow seat is a reproduction slat seat. There are no serial numbers.
I first viewed this canoe in 1982 hanging in a barn. The owner had found the canoe discarded in the local land fill in the mid-60s, and had replaced several ribs and some planking before recanvassing it. His family had used it until it needed another recanvasing, when he hung it in his barn. I had tried since that time to convince the owner to sell it to me, which he did last fall. It was restored over the winter by the North Bay Canoe and Kayak Company, North Bay, Ontario.
