Hi just found this forum very nice.

First we just wanted a canoe because we live beside lots of lakes but being raised on the coast we wondered could you sail one and thinking it was a mad idea we were nicely surprised to find lots of info on the web.

So now we have the plans and the wood to build an 18ft DK (free plans from JEM) any advice would be very welcome.

    All the best
    In Ireland :)

Welcome! We have a good group here, mostly wooden canoe types, but all very knowledgeable and helpful in their own way. Follow the link Paul suggested, and let us know--either here or in the Canoe Sailing Magazine forum--how we can help!

Just finished cutting out the parts but will have to wait a while before stitching as work has to be done.

Again any advice on the build would be good
