I thought I wasn't going to be able to post images. But this was my Grandfathers Canoe and was curious about her

Hi Daniel,

Your canoe is not an Old Town but rather a White. It's from 1953 and unfortunately no build records are available. The E.M. White Canoe Co. was based in Old Town, Maine, like the Old Town Canoe Company (OTCC). White began building significantly earlier than OTCC and there was some interesting interconnectedness between the companies (beyond the scope of your question). After WWII, a change of ownership brought about a name change to the White Canoe Company, which is probably what your canoe's bow deck tag reads. In 1984, three decades after your canoe was built, OTCC purchased the White Canoe Company.

You know any type of price on these?

The information at https://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/57/ and similar listings at https://www.woodencanoe.org/classifieds may help you value it. The site at https://www.woodencanoemuseum.org/index.php/builder-history/e-m-white-co has more details about White if you are curious. The model could be either the Camp Guide or Feather Weight and the weight will be the major difference. The circa 1952 catalog pages below have more details. Canoes with a family connection are always extra special.
