Birch bark canoe at local club

    I am valueing a collection for a nearby canoe club and this is one of the 10 canoes. I thought some of you may want to see one. It is a nearly 100 year old micmac canoe. No, they are not going up for sale; it is to reinsure the collection.

    Is that canoe nailed? I don't see any lashings.

    Thanks for posting the pictures. I always enjoy seeing birchbarks.

    Yes it is. The gunnels are nailed with steel nails.
