Bark Canoe in Grand Rapids, MI art contest

There is a "voyageur style bark canoe" being exhibited this year in the huge Grand Rapids, Mi art prize contest. The canoe was apparently built by 5th graders under the direction of Kevin Finney. Search for "Grand Rapids Art Prize" then "artist" and type in his name or bark canoe. There is even a photo of the craft filled with kids and 2 adults paddling down the river. This is great.

Those 5th graders are some very skilled youngsters to take on a project like that. The canoe looks great on the river!
