Anybody know what this is?

The owner of this canoe thinks it might be an early Chestnut but the decks don't look right to me. Evidently there is a serial # stamped into one of the ribs. Anyone have any ideas what type of canoe this is?

In the one photo, it almost appears that the rails and decks don't have the same patina as the hull - have they been replaced?

Dan,

The owner indicated that the decks are original and the gunwales were replaced as the latter were damaged during transportation a few years ago. Evidently, the canoe was re-canvassed and the keel replaced at the same time the gunwales were replaced.

Any guesses?
