The Old Town canoe with serial number 110862 is a 15 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, fifty pound model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, oak decks, oak thwarts, oak seats, a keel, and a floor rack. It was built between 1931 and March, 1932. The original exterior paint color was spruce green. It shipped on March 19th, 1932 to Danbury, Conn. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-wcha to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/store/membership to renew.

It appears that the seller is confused about the model name. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

I will let him know he has something much better than he thought.
    Thanks,

It does look quite nice, but it does look as though some repair/restoration work was done -- the fourth photo shows a rib that seems to be a replacement.

I seriously doubt you will find one of these that doesn't have replacement ribs. Mine needed 12.

The 13' I rescued needed at least 10. The guy is coming to pick it up in March and drive it to Canada to the guy who restored his last two canoes.
He's setting this one up as a solo. The holes in the inwales from the 15' I salvaged line up perfectly for the bow seat to now be the solo seat. 20171108 (10).jpg

The 13' canoe left yesterday and is on its way to Canada for restoration.
It was bittersweet seeing it go - after I sold it I had some second thoughts, but it's going to a good home and after meeting Dave I was very happy.
