Looking for info on Old Town square stern sponson canoe no 139337

Welcome, the Old Town with serial number 139337 is an 18 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, square end paddling model with western red cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, ash decks, spruce thwarts, spruce seats, a keel, outside stems, sponsons, and a rowing seat. It was built between February and September, 1944. The original exterior paint color was bright red with a G. S. (Guide's Special) green bottom. It shipped on October, 13th, 1944 to Hamilton, Georgia. The back side of this record shows that it was damaged in shipment and came back for repairs on January 3rd, 1945. It was then sold on March 8th, 1945 to a dealer in Bangor, Maine. The second page shows that it was returned for more repairs on March 17th, 1948 from Pittsfield, Maine and left the factory again for Houlton, Maine on April 7th, 1949.

The description matches everything. Thank you! Is Maine cedar red or white. Where would I get red if not local?
Old Town typically used east coast white cedar for rib stock, and old growth red cedar from the west coast for planking. If you need to replace broken ribs, buy white cedar. Some of us re-saw red cedar house siding for planking repair if the job is not too large.
