This is the serial # I found on my grandfathers Peterborough Floatwell canoe. I'm attempting to narrow down its manufacture date. Any thoughts?

The 4-digit model number (1426) shows us that it was built no earlier than circa 1939-1941, and it was offered right until the company closed in 1961.

Thanks for the info. This is the canoe I was referring to.We still use it occasionally. It weighs a ton but once in the water it glides like an egg on teflon. My Dad, being the overzealous engineer, relaced the seat caning with seatbelt material.
