September 12 through 15 at Georgian Campgrounds,Killbear Provincial Park,Georgian Bay,Ontario.
This is the Premier event for canoe sailors in Ontario as well as being a meeting ground for proponents of outrigger, marathon, recreational, and building thereof types of canoes and their crews.
Should be listed as a Northern Lakes Chapter event but what with Assembly and all we forgot.
Killbear is a family friendly atmosphere with warm water,no bugs and some of the best sailing, beaches and scenery on the Great Lakes.

scenery

Local has been changed to Lighthouse Point Campground at killbear park.
This gives us variety in wind and see conditions as well as full access to 2 more beaches.

Little Pete

I found this post searching Google for sailing canoes,Who's design is Little Pete and are plans available?

Thanks
Mike

Does he have a website, or email or...
I guess I should just take a look at the wooden canoe sailing magazine...

Hupfield

he started the post, just send him a pm and he'll get it.
EASY boat to build, you'd like it.

oops you probably mean Hugh
get him at Canoesailingmagazine, he'll respond.
Very nice boat to watch in action.

John Bull plans (e.g. Little Pete) were available from Solway Dory (http://www.solwaydory.fsnet.co.uk/index.htm) - appears they are discontinued. John Bull wrote a couple of books, maybe plans are contained therein?

Bufflehead plans are Hugh Horton's. My understanding is that they are for experienced boat builders.

For the ultimate sailing canoe experience, try the 16-30 (not sure why Andre keeps regressing :) )

Thanks Dan

I am not far from you,I live on Oneida Lake and we visit the Museum quite often.Have you seen any nice sailing canoes in the area for sale?

Thanks
Mike

No, none for sale around here lately. Sailing season is past us now, but come up next summer and we can go out together sometime. While you (or anyone else who might be interested) is here, we can go to the Visible Storage facility and see the other sailing canoes in the ABM collection.

Dan

Regressing? come now Dan, you'll note I'm not in any photographs in it, I was busy doing 16/30 ballet, ask Dave. Pete was for other attendees. Speaking of which, will you be joining us next year? Plenty of time to clear your calendar;)
John's still got Little Pete plans and Douglas makes very nice 30sq lateens.
Great paddler, wife doesnt like to solo traditional cedar canvas but prefers to sit - managed to get her out on the Muskoka River in the rain too.
