Just purchased this boat today for $50 , canvas needs work and a little bit of damage on the bow. For most part it’s in great shape. No broken ribs or gunwales, solid yolk and seat. I’m new to this forum and I’d like to here about what I just bought from others. Not sure when it was built but the fella told me it’s from Fredericton. Thanks for any response.

I owned and paddled a 11’ Chestnut Featherweight. Cute little canoe. Difficult to sit in the stern seat and paddle, even with a 5 gallon bucket of water in the bow for ballast. I ended up kneeling, and with poor circulation, my legs went to sleep quickly. Because of its shape, it was hard to paddle straight and perfect for paddling in circles.
But, at 39lbs, it was great for fishing small backwoods lakes solo.
