LOVES Wooden Canoes
This canoe was imported to the UK by Rowland Ward & Co around 1897 and whilst stripping I found a Gordon Mark under the importers plate on the deck.
The thwart tags are replacements.
Her previous owner was Felix Badcock who was given her when age 14 in 1949. He went on to become a top class oarsman rower and coach competing for England in the Empire Games.
The planking is cedar and Mahogany with Oak Gunwales and butternut decks.
