Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
A girls section of Wapomeo (Taylor Statten camps in Algonquin Park; https://www.taylorstattencamps.com/ ) set out for their island basecamp.
That is one big, wooden canoe!

Rob, what an unbelievable pic. My first canoe came to me in 1995, and was the Camp owner's 16 footer. I have it still and love the riveted stem tips to the inwale, heart decks and the Rushton -like last plank at the stems....a very friendly boat to paddle. Maybe Tommy T paddled it during one of his visits at the Camp.

Wow!
That’s crazy! Any idea the length?
I spend a far bit of time in 25 foot and 30 foot voyageur Canoes but they are no where near that length...
I do note that they’re just leaving the Canoe Lake put in...

Wonder if they actually paddled like that to Wap Island?

That Chestnut "war" canoe is 42 feet long!
Bob Henderson has done a history and started a drive to raise money to refurb it.

Is there a link you could provide for people that want to support this?
Shari, The campaign was several years ago. The canoe has already been refurbished. Bob was supposed to do a presentation about this at the Peterborough Assembly last year but had an emergency health issue take priority.
